Terms of Use

The agreement between you and us when you use Screenshot for Web: the API, the dashboard and the free tools.

Operated by HYDRANODE LTD · Last updated 16 October 2026

01Who we are

Screenshot for Web (screenshotforweb.com) is run by HYDRANODE LTD, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 15672526), whose registered office is at 124 City Road, London, London, England, EC1V 2NX. In these Terms, “we” and “us” mean HYDRANODE LTD, and “you” means you, or the organisation you use the service for. You can reach us at contact@screenshotforweb.com.

02Accepting these Terms

You accept these Terms when you create an account, use the API, or use the free tools. If you don’t accept them, please don’t use the service.

You must be at least 16. If you use the service for an organisation, you confirm that you may accept these Terms for it, and the organisation is bound by them.

03The service

Screenshot for Web captures web pages as images and PDFs, through an API, a dashboard and free tools on this site. It can also capture how a page looked in the past, monitor pages for changes, and analyse captures with AI. What each plan includes is listed on the pricing page, and how each feature works is in the documentation. We improve the service all the time, so features can change.

04Your account and API keys

  • Give us accurate details, and keep your email address up to date: it’s how we reach you.
  • Keep your password and API keys secret. You’re responsible for everything done with your account and your keys. If you think a key has leaked, revoke it on the API keys page and tell us if it was misused.
  • One account per person or organisation. Don’t open extra accounts to get around a plan’s limits.

05Plans, billing and taxes

  • The Free plan includes 20 screenshots a month. Paid plans are billed monthly or yearly, in advance, through Stripe, at the price shown at checkout, with any tax that applies.
  • Paid plans renew automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. If we change a plan’s price, we tell you before your next renewal, and the new price applies from that renewal.
  • Each plan has a monthly number of screenshots and a number of requests per minute. Unused screenshots don’t carry over. When you reach the monthly number, captures are refused until the next period starts or you upgrade. How each kind of capture is counted is in the documentation.
  • If a payment fails and isn’t fixed, your plan moves to Free.

06Cancellation and refunds

You can cancel a paid plan at any time, on the billing page in your dashboard. It stays active until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and then moves to Free. You won’t be charged again.

We don’t refund unused time, except where the law says we must. If you’re a consumer, the service starts as soon as you pay and you ask us to start it, so the statutory cooling-off period ends once you start using it, to the extent the law allows. If you see a charge you don’t recognise, write to contact@screenshotforweb.com.

07Acceptable use

Don’t use Screenshot for Web, or let anyone else use it through your account, to:

  • break the law, or capture or use content in a way that infringes other people’s rights, including copyright, trade marks, privacy and data protection;
  • get past logins, paywalls or other access controls, or sign in to accounts that aren’t yours, with scripts, interactions or anything else;
  • attack, probe or overload any system, ours or anyone else’s, including trying to reach private networks through our browsers, or capturing a site so often that it harms it;
  • spread malware, or send scripts meant to harm the pages you capture or the people who use them;
  • resell or give away access to the API itself, for example as a screenshot API of your own (building products that use your captures is fine);
  • get around plan limits or our security measures, or automate the free tools: use the API for automated work.

We may refuse or limit requests that look like any of these. For security research, see our responsible disclosure policy.

08Your content and captures

You keep the rights to what you send us, such as your HTML, scripts and settings. You give us permission to use them, and the pages you ask us to capture, only to provide the service to you.

A capture shows someone else’s page, and the content belongs to its owner. We claim no ownership of your captures, and you’re responsible for having the right to capture each page and use what you capture. How long we keep captures is in the Privacy Policy: download what you want to keep.

09Website history and the Internet Archive

Captures of a page’s past come from copies kept by the Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine. We don’t control what it archived or when, so some periods have no copy, and an old page can look broken because the archive didn’t keep all its files. The dates shown are the archive’s. The free website history tool asks the Internet Archive directly from your browser, and the Internet Archive’s own terms apply to its service.

10AI analysis

AI analysis reads captures with a third-party model. Its answers can be wrong or incomplete, so check them before you rely on them. You’re responsible for the prompts you send and for how you use the answers.

11Free tools

The free tools on this site need no account. They’re for people capturing pages by hand, so each visitor has a limit, and the limits can change. Everything in these Terms applies to the free tools too.

12Availability and changes

We work to keep Screenshot for Web fast and available, but we don’t guarantee uptime, and some pages can’t be captured, for example when a site blocks automated browsers. We may change, add or remove features. If we remove something your paid plan relies on, we’ll tell you first.

13Suspension and closing accounts

We may suspend or close an account, or revoke its keys, if it seriously or repeatedly breaks these Terms, if a payment isn’t made, if the law requires it, or to protect the service or other people. Where we reasonably can, we’ll tell you why first and give you a chance to fix it.

You can stop using the service at any time, and ask us to close your account by writing to contact@screenshotforweb.com. The sections on your content, disclaimers, liability, indemnity and governing law still apply after an account closes.

14Disclaimers

Apart from what these Terms promise, the service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. We don’t promise that a capture will match what a particular person sees, or that archived copies or AI answers are accurate.

15Limitation of liability

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law doesn’t allow us to limit, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Otherwise, we aren’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or goodwill. Our total liability to you for anything connected with the service is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or £50.

16Indemnity

If you use the service for a business and someone makes a claim against us because of your captures, the content you send us, or your breach of these Terms, you’ll cover our reasonable losses and costs from that claim. This doesn’t take away any rights you have as a consumer.

17Governing law

These Terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction. If you’re a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring claims in its courts.

18Changes to these Terms

When these Terms change, we update the date at the top. If a change matters, we tell you on the site or by email before it takes effect. If you keep using the service after that, the new Terms apply.
